TIAA-CREF Scientist in Lab

Texas has a world-renowned legacy of leadership in medical education and research. Offering a body of knowledge, hands-on instruction, words of wisdom and a shoulder to lean on, our teaching physicians and nurses shape the future of discovery and patient care. The TIAA-CREF Distinguished Medical Educator Award was created in 2003 to recognize and honor one such outstanding individual each year.

Who is Eligible?

Any Texas medical educator is eligible to receive the award. The ideal candidate has a history of significant contributions to medical education and has impacted medical education both nationally and internationally. Eligible nominees are medical (teaching physician) or non-medical (nurse, doctorate or equivalent professional designation).

$10,000 Honorarium

TIAA-CREF, in partnership with The Health Museum, will honor one recipient at an awards ceremony in the fall of 2010. The honoree will receive a $10,000 honorarium and 12 scholarships will be donated in his/her name to students attending The Health Museum’s Mini Medical School Summer Camp.
